Keywords: Middle East, MENA, English, peace, dialogue, media, journalism, guide, all media formats, media resources

This best practice guide and pedagogical toolkit is an original piece of work that is made up of writings by new media reporters from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Occupied Palestinian Territories and Iraq, who were brought together by the Arab Media Summit in Amman in February 2009.  It contains descriptions of the new media landscapes in the Levant and Iraq, as well as a list of challenges and recommendations for each country.

Some of the common challenges for peace and dialogue have been identified by the contributors, such as the promotion of peace initiatives, the separation of political influence on the journalism profession and the need to create links with civil society organisations.

The guide is available in English and was published in 2010. There are 16 writers, from various countries across the Levant and also Iraq, who contributed to the guide.
