Asian Journalists Offered Free Course On Reporting Poverty

Journalists in Asia interested in more accurate reporting of poverty issues can apply to attend a four-day course in Dhaka, Bangladesh that will sharpen their reporting of the continuing crisis in many rural communities.Organised by the Thompson Reuters Foundation in conjunction with the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the course will focus on the journalistic skills needed to cover the rural world and bring rural poverty issues into urban households.

The course, from November 21-24, is open to journalists or regular contributors to media who have at least two years professional experience and a good level of spoken and written English. The foundation covers air travel, accommodation, transfers and meals.

To be selected applicants must submit a 250-word essay, two recently published articles and a statement of work by October 21.
