Photojournalism grant on Women’s Issues Open

alexiaPhotojournalists can apply for this grant. The Alexia Foundation is seeking applicants for the Women’s Initiative, which will focus on the global plight of women. Applicants should submit proposals for projects on any form of abuse of women in the United States but with global significance.Photojournalists from anywhere in the world can participate, but submitted work must address the struggle women in the U.S.The winner will receive $US25,000 and will have six months or until April 1 to complete the project.

The initiative will culminate in the Fall of 2013 with a symposium co-sponsored by Syracuse University, a fundraising social event and a major photographic exhibition highlighting the Women’s Initiative photographic work along with the work of previous Alexia photographers who have done work on women’s issues.

The application deadline is August 15.
