The international news service, Reuters, has published their styleguide and code of ethics for the first time. The handbook contains sections on standards and values, including the 10 absolutes of Reuters journalism, a general style guide and sports style guide, and a guide to Reuters operations.

It also has a section on specialised guidance, which deals with issues such as sourcing, legal dangers, the use of Internet-based reporting, and dealing with threats and complaints. It is the not the work of one individual, but of dozens of journalists from print, television, photography and domestic as well as international services.
