Awards for Projects on Intercultural Dialogue

bakuforumThe “Living Together Peacefully in a Diverse World” is a prize that seeks to reward those projects that have contributed to protect and enhance cultural diversity. It is an award organised within the 2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue by the Government of Azerbaijan and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).

The Forum will take place from May 29th to June 1st, 2013, in Baku, Azerbaijan. Its main objective is to highlight the need for practical initiatives that promote cultural diversity and coexistence among communities.

Not-for-profit organizations, research and educational institutions among others, have the opportunity to present their projects to win one of the four monetary prizes from $5,000 to $10,000.

The participants have to present a project that has contributed to implement approaches and methods to promote living together peacefully in a diverse world. It must have been operational for a minimum of a year with proven positive outcomes.

The project must has been implemented in one of  the following countries: Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates or Yemen.

The deadline for submission is Thursday April 25th, 2013.
