Council of Europe Youth Media Award accepting application

EuropeanYouthPress2Deadline: 1 August 2011

Region: Europe

Young European journalists up to 30 years old are encouraged to apply for the Council of Europe Youth Media Award. This year’s theme is press freedom and categories include photography, video, radio and print journalism. Winners will be invited to Strasbourg to receive the cash prize of €1000 at a ceremony during the October 2011 session of the Parliamentary Assembly.

This year’s theme is inspired by one of the most important articles of the European Convention of Human Rights – article 10. “Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers…”

The Award is organized by the European Youth Press in collaboration with the Council of Europe.
