Journalists who have reported on epilepsy can enter a competition. The 2011 Excellence in Epilepsy Journalism Awards, sponsored by the International Bureau for Epilepsy, recognize outstanding reporting on this issue. Stories should help increase the awareness and understanding of epilepsy and give a voice to people living with epilepsy.
Entries must have been published or broadcast between October 30, 2010 and November 30, 2011. There are three categories for entries—print, online and broadcast—with one winner to be selected from each group.
Winners will receive €4,000 (about US$5,640) travel vouchers, which are intended to be used to defray costs for further journalistic research.
