A national conference on media ethics in Lithuania will be held from 25th to 27th March in Vilnius. The conference is part of the Ethical Journalism initiative (EJI), a campaign to fight discrimination through freedom of expression and promoting the highest professional standards of journalism.

The Media Diversity Institute (MDI) will contribute to the conference with its findings from ‘Media4Diversity’a two year study which identified over 150 initiatives by, or about, the media that countered discrimination and promoted diversity across Europe.

MDI’s Executive director Milica Pesic will present her views on multiculturalism at the conference in a session titled ‘What has utterly failed: multiculturalism, government policies or the media?’.

MDI is partnering the EJI initiative as a part of a consortium comprising the European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), Article 19, the Lithuanian Journalists’ Union (LZS), the Journalists’ Union of Macedonia, the Thrace Daily Newspapers (ESIEMTH) and the Slovak Syndicate of Journalists (SSN).
