Palestinian and Israeli journalists are invited to participate in the annual Eliav-Sartawi Awards for Middle East Journalism, which recognizes articles that contribute to dialogue and better understanding amongst peoples in conflict in the Middle East. Deadline to submit entries is July 5.
Organized by Search for Common Ground (SFCG), the competition focuses on encouraging and recognizing local Palestinian and Israeli voices. Opinion articles under 1,000 words submitted in Arabic, English or Hebrew will be reviewed by a panel of international judges.
Winners of the competition will be invited to attend an award ceremony in Jerusalem towards the end of the year. Submitted articles must have been published between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010 in a recognized media outlet.
