Prize to award works on inequality & poverty in Latin America

Journalists whose works have contributed to the reduction of inequality and poverty in Latin America and the Caribbean may be nominated for a prize offered by Mexico’s Fundación Grupo Vidanta. Deadline: March 31.

The organizer, the Organization of American States, also invites the nomination of grassroots civil organizations and non-governmental institutions that aim to reduce poverty and combat discrimination in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The prizes are US$100,000 for first place, and US$75,000 and US$50,000 for second and third place, respectively.

The award ceremony will be held in November in Mexico City. The competition is being supported along with Fundación Grupo Vidanta and Secretaría General Iberoamericana.
